KAB Laboratories, Inc. (http://kablab.com) is seeking an Oracle Database Administrator with 3-5 years experience for our San Diego office. If you have a passion for excellence in engineering and enjoy working on challenging projects in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment – read on!

Roles and Responsibilities:

The candidate will work with a group of systems engineers, developers and deployers as the database expert on a new system for our customer. The candidate should have excellent analytical and time management skills, and an ability to prioritize and multi-task, and an ability to routinely make effective and timely decisions in alignment with management direction.

Additional responsibilities include performing database patching, upgrade and migration as necessary; analyzing performance issues and providing recommendation based on testing results; proactively diagnosing and resolving problems affecting database; maintaining database configurations in compliance with release management and change management; participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required. The candidate should be familiar with developing stored procedures that process and modify existing data and creating database jobs to execute ad-hoc PL/SQL as well as procedures used to validate data, modify data, or gather table and index statistics at regular intervals.

Minimum Qualifications:

• U.S. citizen with SECRET clearance.
• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• Self starter that works well in a team environment.
• At least 3-5 years of Oracle DBA and development experience to include Oracle 11g installation, configuration, performance tuning, high availability, backup/restore and application development.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Oracle Data Guard and Streams.
• Experience working with Oracle support.
• Knowledge of RDBMsystems and SQL.
• Proficient in SQL and in implementing SQLPLUS and PL/SQL.
• TS/SCI clearance.
